Cystic acne treatment is a type of treatment where acne affects the various lymph nodes of your body and should be treated by a dermatologist. Disadvantages of Isotretinoin 

Cystic acne treatment with isotretinoin has several disadvantages for you to be a wear of.  One disadvantage to this drug is that it is expensive to use. It is also a linked to some adverse effects they can be severe. Among the possible side effects include inflammation of the lip and mucous membranes of the eye, dry mouth, nose or skin itching, nosebleeds, muscle aches, photosensitivity, and rarely, decreased night vision.  Among the more serious side effects include increased blood cholesterol, lipid and triglyceride levels, and abnormal liver enzymes. Your doctor will need to monitor your complete blood count, blood chemistry, cholesterol, triglycerides, and liver enzymes prior to starting the use of this treatment and several times during your cystic acne treatment.  He should immediately stop the use of isotretinoin when any of the above became detrimental to your health. Most of these side effects usually go away after the medication is discontinued. Patience suffering from any of these side effects should tell their doctor immediately so that he will be able to reduce the dosage of the drug so that the side effects are decreased is stopped. 

An additional disadvantage of using isotretinoin is the adverse side effects known as teratogenic which can cause birth defects in the developing fetus of a pregnant woman who is taking this drug. It is crucial that women of childbearing age are not pregnant and do not get pregnant while taking isotretinoin. Women must also use an appropriate birth control method for one month prior to this therapy, during the entire course of therapy, and for one full month after the therapy stops. Women should consult with their doctor about when it is safe to get pregnant after this therapy has stopped.
